Abstract

The article reviews opinions of the western re-searchers on the conflict between Georgia and Abkhazia. The author considers the two ways of the conflict interpretation: when responsibility is conferred either on Russia (Georgia’s interpretation) or on Georgia (Abkhazia’s interpretation). The undertaken research allows the author to deduce, that making Russia responsible for the conflict is simultaneously the change of its scope, for the responsibility confer on Russia keeps all the complexity of relations between Georgia and Abkhazia out of sight.
