Abstract

The effect of severe plastic deformation and modes of additional thermal and thermo-mechanical treatments on the structure and mechanical properties of the titanium alloy VT6 have been investigated here. It has been shown that application of multistep isothermal forging (MIF) and optimal regimes of the subsequent thermal and thermo-mechanical treatment allow obtaining the improved strength properties in the alloy. Thus, the ultimate strength σu = 1540 MPa and the yield stress σ 0,2 = 1485 MPa are being obtained at the sufficient level of relative elongation δ = 7 % and relative narrowing ψ = 34%, after the MIF and the subsequent quenching from temperature 960 оС with the following ageing at temperature 480 оС. The improved mechanical properties are the result of developing the fine-grained globular microstructure in the MIF process, as well as the sequence of the dislocation structure of deformation, which allow obtaining the fine-grained precipitations during the ageing, providing the improved strength properties.

Исследовано влияние интенсивной пластической деформации и режимов обработки на структуру и механические свойства титанового сплава ВТ6. Показано, что применение всесторонней изотермической ковки (ВИК) и оптимальных режимов последующей термической и термомеханической обработки позволяет получить в сплаве повышенные прочностные свойства. Так, после ВИК и последующей закалки с температуры 960 оС с последующим старением при температуре 480 оС достигаются предел прочности σ = 1540 МПа и условный предел текучести ψ = 1485 МПа при удовлетворительном уровне относительного удлинения σ = 7 % и относительном сужении ψ = 34 %. Повышенные механические свойства являются результатом формирования мелкозернистой глобулярной микроструктуры в ходе ВИК, а также наследования дислокационной структуры деформации, которые позволяют при старении получить высокодисперсные продукты распада, обеспечивающие высокие прочностные характеристики.
