The local fauna of diurnal lepidopteran were studied on the Solovetsky islands in four years (2001-2004). 545 individuals in all were collected. The local fauna includes 28 species (5 families). The zoogeographical analysis of butterfly fauna is conducted. It is shown, that the fauna of butterflies of islands represents strongly impoverished variant of European northern taiga fauna. The analysis of specific structure of basic biotopic groupings, which consist of 3 up to 20 species, is made. Features of phenology are considered.
