Expansion of the European Union had ambiguous impact on tax systems of its participating countries in recent years. In the article the analysis of the basic principles, forms and the directions of rapprochement of national tax systems of EU countries is carried out. Key tendencies of development of EU's tax policy at the present stage are estimated.
