Abstract

Discussed the emergence of the biblical movement and the conditions for its spread in Russia. Based on the analysis of archival documents describing the history of foundation and translation activities of the Kazan Committee of the Russian Bible Society. An actual material work on the chuvash, mari, mordovian translated texts of the Bible. The reasons for the abolition of Russian Bible Society, the estimation of the value of translational activity for the approval of the peoples of the Middle Volga newly baptized in the Orthodox Church.

Рассмотрено возникновение библейского движения и условия его распространения в России. На основе анализа архивных документов изложена история основания и переводческая деятельность Казанского комитета Российского библейского общества (РБО). Приведен фактический материал о работе над чувашским, марийским, мордовским переводами текстов Библии. Указаны причины упразднения РБО, дана оценка значения переводческой деятельности для утверждения новокрещеных народов Среднего Поволжья в православии.
