
The article discusses the derivation and functional characteristics of prepositions derived from different parts of speech: adverbs, adverbial participles, nouns. The author observes the correlation between the typology of derivative prepositions relating to different periods of history of the Russian language and the processes in the syntactic structure and communicative organization of a simple sentence.
