Abstract

В XIX в. The tradition of creation of museum of rarities in Russia has received development during the reign of Peter I. The museum of rarities in a translation into German means «Kunstcamera». The first and famous kunstcamera has started to be formed at the initiative of the emperor. In XIX century the increase in a share of disciplines of humanitarian knowledge in formation stimulated creation of collections of rarities in higher educational institutions.
