Abstract

The exterior peculiarities of Broiler-chickens with different levels of stress sensibility under cage rearing on feedlot conditions have been studied. The scientific – economic experiment was conducted on the feedlot of «Ural-Broiler» JSC («Argayasha» poultry plant) Chelyabinsk region. Broiler-chickens of ISA F15 cross at the age of 35 days were used in the experiment, 246 birds were included in test trials. The measurements of single chicken body points showed that in stress-resistant chicks, reared under the conditions of the poultry plant, the length of the keel and shin, as well as the pelvis width were most developed. Their indices were higher at 6.5, 33.9 and 7.9% respectively, as compared with stress-sensitive chicks. At the same time they were inferior to stress-resistant birds in the front body depth. It is due to such type of body points development that the stress-resistant broilers had more proportional and harmonic body build. Their thickness index turned to be higher at 0.7%, body width – at 2.7, the shortened lower part of the body – at 5.6, compactness – at 4.5% as compared with stress-sensitive broilers.
