Abstract

This article discusses the results of a gravimetric monitoring carried out in April 2012 in the building of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technology, Kazan Federal University. It is shown that the results of a gravimetric tidal monitoring in laboratory conditions can be used for simple and inexpensive calibration of gravimeters. The residual anomalies observed in different parts of the building may be associated with the diurnal vertical movements of the building with an amplitude of around 5–10 mm. A strongly pronounced 24-period sinusoidal component has been detected in the residual tidal anomalies. It is suggested that this anomaly is due to the difference between Love coefficients for 12- and 24-hour components of the tidal gravitational variations.
