Abstract

The ability of the cells of fungus Geotrichum sp. 85-1 to stabilize emulsions of organic solvents (n-hydrocarbons, isooctane, chloroform, ethyl acetate) in water was researched. It was shown that biocatalytic reduction of acetophenone into 1-phenyletanol with that microorganism in bioemulsions proceeds more effectively than in buffer solution.
