Abstract

Microcirculation disturbance in the bladder neck is a significant pathogenetic factor in the development of bladder neck sclerosis as one of the major complications of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) surgical treatment. Laser Doppler flowmetry enables microcirculatory level hemodynamics evaluation, disease course monotoring, a more versatile approach to patient preparation for surgical treatment for BPH and prevention of bladder neck sclerosis. Occurrence of hemodynamic and microcirculatory bladder neck disorders in patients with BPH in the preoperative period necessitates a corrective therapy aimed at bladder neck prophylaxis.
