Abstract

Development of methods for analyzing the causes of heart disease, cancer and endocrine disorders epidemics is an important task, since these pathologies determine adult mortality and disability in developed countries. Estimation of attributable risk is used to assess the impact of environment, behavior, and other factors on the discovery and development of disease. But the value of attributable risk estimates is limited due to the assumptions of homogeneity of the study population, the constancy of factors and a number of other simplifications [1]. For populations heterogeneous in socio-economic or ethnic composition, in which income and intensity of the factors change over time, more adequate methods of risk factors analysis for non-communicable chronic diseases are needed. The individual-based modeling is such a method which allows taking into account modern knowledge on the mechanisms of development of non-communicable diseases, population heterogeneity and the impact of socio-economic factors
