Abstract

Genre interior is widespread in Russian painting of the first half of XIX century. The images of interiors are found in the works of Russian artists such as O.A. Kiprensky, K.P. Bryullov, A.G. Venetsianov and students of his school, and A.T. Khrutsky and many others. The public is interested in interiors of the special atmosphere of studios that created the work, and life situation of artists. The proof is the large number of paintings where the artist is portrayed as in his special studio, as well as in normal everyday situations. There are generated new ideas about the nature of creativity, which give rise to a different attitude to the personality of the artist. This paper presents a comparative analysis of products with images of artists’ studios to trace the evolution of these images, to assess the special artistic richness of the interior.
