“Konigsberg” by Yu Buida is viewed as a novel about the present time, about the fate and self-identity of the three generations of the Russian intelligentsia of the second half of the twentieth century. The fate of the main character is built as an attempt to interpret the past in the written and spoken word. History is present in the lives of the characters in the form of material traces of the past, but it remains essentially unknowable. Analyzed conflict of unraveling of the past in the telling of it, which is opposed to the disappearance of historical reality.
