Term ‘hieroglyphics’ is used for designation written signs in some writing systems. However, this term which was taken from the Holy Scriptures preacher Clement of Alexandria (II-III cc.), in its original meaning, as inscription carved on the stone (ἱερογλυφικὰ γράμματα), is used in geology. Here, hieroglyphs do not just are, according to the Great Soviet Encyclopedia, "whimsically curved bolsters, furrows, etc. form of ‘prints’ on the surfaces of the bedding of some typically fine-grained rock (for example, in flysch)," but constitute lexicon that allows geologist to read the greatest book, which planet Earth is. In my article, I assume Lomonosov’s determining the visible world as the First Book the First Text created by Supreme Creator. Based on this understanding, and using a cybernetic approach, I have attempted to show this is not just Russian genius’ beautiful metaphor, but the truth is most clear in the framework of geology as a science. In my article, I represent my experience of ‘geological text reading’. It is important for this goal that planet Earth’s cybernetic analysis suggests it is highly self-regulating and self-coordinating system. In the framework of this approach, the uppermost part of Earth’s stone shell (Earth's crust) is a memory storing in its composition and outgoing material structure all information about the previous state of the planet as a whole. Among the geological formations composing Earth's crust, flysch formation is widespread. In Russia, the Black Sea coast of Crimea and Caucasus are folded by flysch. Flysch is represented by thick layers of sedimentary marine clastic rocks of different composition with a characteristic rhythmic structure formed by multiple repetition layers of clastic rocks with direct graded bedding. On the bottom formation of sandstone, representing the lower part of the flysch rhythms, we can often find hieroglyphs. They are a sculptural casts of erosion furrows, traces exaration and dragging of rock debris at the bottom of the sedimentary basin, as well as casts of moves mud-eating marine organisms and others. Those mechanoglyphs and bioglyphs are the ‘letters’ in which nature has recorded information about the processes occurring in the marine basins thousands, millions and billions years ago.
