The article is devoted to A. N. Ostrovskys cooperation with the journal Sovremennik, one of the top-level periodicals of the 19th century. Special attention is given to the analysis of the attitude of the literary criticism department to the playwrights work before his joining the staff of the magazine.
В статье рассматривается постепенный переход А. Н. Островского к тесному сотрудничеству с журналом «Современник» ведущим периодическим изданием XIX в. Особое внимание уделяется отношению отдела критики к творчеству драматурга до его прихода в журнал в качестве штатного сотрудника.
