Abstract

In the work, we compare the strain degree of armco iron and 30Mn2B and 30CrMnSiNi2N steels in upsetting and shear under high quasi-hydrostatic pressure, equal channel angular pressing, hydrostatic extrusion, and cross rolling reasoning from the assumption that close values of hardness, similar sizes of structural components, and identical types of structures are evidence for equal accumulated strains. The accumulated strain in high-pressure shear and equal channel angular pressing are calculated with methods in which the hardness and sizes of structural elements are in mutual correspondence and in correspondence with the calculated strain. The size of structural elements is found to depend on applied pressure.
