The article deals with the description of the associative field «silence», which makes the important fragment of the Russian linguistic worldview. The aspects of the phenomenon of silence identified on the basis of analysis of the associative field with the dominant “silence” and exceeding the bounds of semantics are in the focus of attention. Distinguished substantive characteristics reflect the peculiarities of linguistic consciousness of native speakers and reveal the significance of the analyzed phenomenon in the national culture and consciousness.

Статья посвящена анализу ассоциативно-вербального поля «молчание», составляющего важный фрагмент русской языковой картины мира. В фокусе внимания оказываются выходящие за пределы семантики аспекты феномена молчания, выявленные на основе анализа ассоциативно-вербального поля с доминантой «молчание». Выделенные содержательные характеристики отражают особенности языкового сознания носителей языка и свидетельствуют о значимости рассматриваемого феномена в национальной культуре и сознании.
