Abstract

С. We find two main rhythmic intonations (arioso and recitative) in one of the little tragedies by A.S. Pushkin The Stone Guest. The text itself is epigraphed by the quotation from Mozart's opera Don Juan, the intonation of which had become the basis of the play's conflict and thus had given the intonational dramaturgy many shades of meaning. We conclude that The Stone Guest is a curious experiment with the genre of libretto, written under the influence of Mozart's music and opposed to Da Ponte's literary experience.
