The article is devoted to the study of Russian and Ukrainian archives documents connected with the process of preparation to the first Soviet editions of the historical and legal monuments of Kievan Rus'. The author pays much attention to the scientific and other factors, which influenced on the development of Soviet science in general and on the Academy of Science in spesial case.

На основе анализа документальных материалов ведущих украинских и российских архивов раскрывается процесс подготовки и опубликования первых советских изданий историко-юридического памятника эпохи Киевской Руси. Показана взаимозависимость между научными и вненаучными факторами, влиявшими на процессы в Академии наук и научных кругах советского государства.
