Abstract

In the article, the electric polarization generated by magnetic inhomogeneity arising in a vicinity of the interface between layers with different uniaxial magnetic anisotropy in a (100)-oriented bi-layered exchange coupled ferromagnetic film has been investigated. It has been shown that cubic magnetic anisotropy in the layers allocates the plane of magnetization rotation across magnetic inhomogeneity and correspondingly the direction of electric polarization. The influence of magnetic field applied along normal to the surface on magnetization processes and electric polarization has been studied. The field dependent electric polarization diagrams have been constructed and the threshold fields suppressing electric polarization have been determined.
