
The article deals with the British and American somatic phraseologisms which are analyzed from the point of view of their structural-semantic peculiarities, the problem of interrelation of the two variants. On the basis of the comparative analysis the universal and unique features in their semantics are revealed, and the main types of semantic relations equivalent and nonequivalent units are described
