The paper continues the series of publications documenting the dialect of Gammalsvenskby. The village of Gammalsvenskby, located in Kherson region, Ukraine, was founded in 1782 by migrants from the island of Dago (Hiiumaa) in the Baltic Sea. The language of the migrants was the dialect of Dago, one of the Swedish dialects in Estonia. The dialect of Gammalsvenskby is the only surviving dialect of this group and the only Scandinavian dialect spoken on the territory of the former Soviet Union. The sources of the research are interviews with speakers of the dialect recorded by the author during fieldwork in the village.
Село Старошведское находится на Украине, в Херсонской области. Оно было основано в 1782 г. переселенцами с острова Дагё (Хийумаа). Шведский диалект села, восходящий к диалекту о. Дагё, является единственным живым скандинавским диалектом на территории бывшего СССР. Современное состояние диалекта не изучено, поэтому первоочередной задачей является сбор и публикация фактического материала. Исследование выполнено на основе интервью с носителями диалекта, проведенных автором в ходе полевой работы в селе в 2004-2010 гг.
