Abstract

The article considers folk language categorization models in the view of their co-adaptation in the interaction of modern languages and cultures. Asymmetry as a salient feature of intercultural and interpersonal communication is discussed, cognitive foundations of cross-cultural co-adaptation are demonstrated, and language and discourse representations of adaptive processes are analyzed.
