Abstract

The paper attempts to summarize the data from mitochondrial DNA analyzes of paleo-remnants and recreate the path of Neolithic migrations of bearers of the subclade H2, the history of which turned out to be closely related to the Neolithic cultures of the Russian Plain. Additionally, occurrence of the haplogroup H2 in paleo-remnants correlates with findings of the Y-DNA haplogroup R1a1. It has been hypothesized that the ancient subclades of the Y-haplogroup R1a1 are likely to be found in the central Europe, in particular, in the Funnelbeaker culture.
