The article analyzes the events around Pereyaslavl Russky after Mstislav the Great's decease in 1132. A pooled analysis of chronicle information allows the conclusion that the main reason for the struggle for Pereyaslavl rooted in intrafamilial dissents between Monomakh's elder (the Vladimirovichs) and younger (the Mstislavichs) descendants. The struggle was taking place against the background of the Chernigov dynasty's aspirations to regain its status, undermined by the decisions of the Council of Liubech in 1097. Eventually, the Pereyaslavl crisis led to the ultimate changes of relationship among the Russian princes and determined its development till the late XIIth century.

В статье анализируются события, разворачивающиеся вокруг Переяславля Русского после кончины Мстислава Великого в 1132 г. Совокупный анализ летописной информации позволяет прийти к заключению, что основной причиной борьбы за Переяславль стали внутрисемейные разногласия среди старших потомков Мономаха (Владимировичей) и младших (Мстиславичей). Эта борьба происходила на фоне стремления черниговской династии восстановить свой статус, подорванный решениями Любечского съезда 1097 г. В конечном итоге переяславский кризис привел к радикальному изменению междукняжеских отношений в Южной Руси и определил их развитие вплоть до конца XII века.
