Abstract

The effect of coherent backscattering in nematic liquid crystals is investigated. Using the diffusion approximation of the Bethe-Salpeter equation the analytical expression for the angular and polarization dependence of the coherent backscattering intensity is obtained. It is shown that the theory describes the angular dependence and the elliptical form of the backscattering cone
