Abstract

The calculation of the residual strength of human limbs’ bones after sectoral resection was performed on the base of the results of mathematical modeling and computing experiment. Based on a retrospective analysis of operative and postoperative treatment of 59 patients, the criteria for the use of weight bearing limitation, immobilization and bone reinforcement (using AO implants) were identified, and an appropriate computer program was created. The critical sizes of post-resection bone defects for applying of different methods of bone strength compensation were defined.
