The article is about the correlation between recategorisation and subcategorisation based on the example of the associative sense identification. This associative sense is connected with the name of the speciality “linguist”. The means of sense setting in the associative clause, reference areas of the linguistic sign as well as the mechanisms of recategorisation and subcategorisation are identified and examined.

Рассматривается соотношение перекатегоризации и субкатегоризации на примере выявления ассоциативных смыслов, связанных с названием специальности лингвист. Выявляются способы задания смысла в ассоциативной статье, референтные области для языкового знака, механизм перекатегоризации и субкатегоризации.
