Abstract

The article is devoted to the novel “Pugachevschina” written by Sergey Auslender. It tackles the connections between this novel and “The Captain's Daughter” of Alexander Pushkin. It is underscored that themes, problems and images, which allude to the Pushkin’s story, are reinterpreted in “Pugachevschina” according to the emerging canon of Socialist Realism in soviet literature in 1920-s.
