Abstract

Own data concerning the incidence rate of acetonemic syndrome (AS) in children who have sought medical attention in 2005-2011 are presented. During this period, the number of AS children was up by 2.1 times. The number of patients with secondary AS was increased by 4.8 times during the analyzed period. From 2005 to 2011 the increase of AS symptoms incidence rate in infants was noted, in this age group the primary AS was recorded by 2.6 times more and secondary AS 2.5 times more often. There were no significant differences in the clinical symptoms in children with primary and secondary AS. As well in primary as in secondary AS AST and uric acid levels are elevated. In this case, elevated levels of AST are recorded 1.2 times more often in children with secondary AS, and high levels of uric acid are noted 1.5 times more frequently in children with primary AS.
