Abstract

There is a review of methodologies of geographical demarcation given, which can serve a basis for development of historical and geographical demarcation of the country. A special attention is given to the method of demarcation called "floating indicator" and hierarchy of historical and geographical areas. It is suggested to set up a working group, which includes geographers of different specializations and representatives of related sciences, aiming at development of historical and geographical demarcation of Russia.
