Abstract

We compared the effects of beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers and conventional therapy (ACE inhibitors) on cardiac complications in patients with atherosclerotic abdominal aortic aneurysm in early postoperative period. The frequency of cardiac complications was evaluated. Beta-blockers and calcium channel blockers were shown to significantly reduce the incidence of cardiac complications in early postoperative period compared with conventional therapy. Patients who took beta-blockers had no fatal cardiac complications.
