Abstract

The article focuses on characteristics of quoting the Acts and Epistles of the Apostles taking as a material of research the sermons of Anthony (Bloom) the Metropolitan of Sourozh and Rev. John (Krest'yankin), and proves that they strictly succeed to the rhetorical tradition fixed in original and translated Old Church Slavonic texts from XI-XIII centuries. The presence of Church Slavonic elements in sermons and their individual features are also discussed..
