Abstract

The article deals with origin of the pop art movement that reflected cultural trends of the mid-twentieth century and at the same time contributed to the development of creative advertising. The analysis of a unique process in the history of art, when consumption culture becomes a foundation of the art movement, helps to understand development of the advertising industry as a whole. The author examines the interference of the pop art aesthetics and the advertising based on the analysis of works of one of the most notable artists of the pop art movement American artist Andy Warhol.
