Abstract

The subject of the World War II is still the issue of the day in Northern Caucasus. The article describes migration processes in the Northern Caucasus. The investigated time interval is characterized with heavy casualties among Northern Caucasians at front lines and enormous migration on a local scale (including deportation and forcible resettlement). The civilian population migrated both to the newly annexed areas and within the Caucasian republics.
