Abstract

Meister Eckhart’s doctrine can be regarded as the first example of the development of philosophical traditions of Gnostic Christianity, which opposed to Church Christianity in the history. Eckhart describes the relationship between God and man in such way that man is the highest metaphysical principle defining all possible meanings of being. This trend has become the basis of non-classical philosophy in the second half of XIX — early XX century (Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Heidegger); Eckhart can be regarded as a forerunner of this philosophical tradition.
