Abstract

The study of the integrating systems reorganization during the physiological pregnancy course represents a topical scientific problem. It is hard to overestimate the role of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) in vital activities of a human body. There are few, if any, studies concerned with examining the ANS during the normal gestation course which are conducted using modern technologies. The aim of our study was to examine the state of the ANS in pregnant women during the physiological gestation course. For that purpose we examined 113 pregnant women with the physiological pregnancy course. The control group was composed of 30 pregnant women. The outcome analysis showed an increase of the sympathetic reactivity in pregnant women as compared to that in nonpregnant. There is a nonuniformity of an autonomic response during the first and the second trimesters of a normal pregnancy, which presents in dominance of vagotonia. That should be taken into consideration when conducting a general medical examination among pregnant women.
