Abstract

The study involved 88 patients from chemotherapy unit of Cancer Research Institute of RAMS, enrolled during the period from 01.01.2011 till 30.06.2012. The research showed that breast cancer, small cell lung cancer and treatment with cytostatics cause symmetrical distal sensory-motor axonal-demyelinating polyneuropathy. Paraneoplastic nature of the disease is confirmed by detecting the onconeural antigens in the serum of more than half of the study participants.
