Abstract

The article regards the documentary testimonies of Russian travelers and diplomats of the 17th 18th centuries about the initial stage of Russian-Chinese diplomacy practice formation. It is noted that in the period under investigation the international relations of two great word powers represented only mutual status defining and studying the value categories of each other. The article is based on notes, diaries, reports and other documents of the Russians who witnessed the events taking place in China in the period of dynasties Ming and Ching. The author characterizes the specific nature of political activity, ambassador etiquette, ceremonial, traditions and ethical standards of Russian and Chinese Empires.
