Abstract

The article gives the results of the research on the use of Sengstaken-Blakemore tube with coverage of triple action in patients with liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension, complicated by bleeding from esophageal varices. It has been shown that this method, used independently as well as together with endoscopic hardening is very effective. It promotes rapid healing of dilatated varix walls defects and mucous membrane of esophagus and stomach; it reduces the rate of early bleedings thus preventing worsening of hepatocyte functional state and leading to lethality reduction.
