Abstract

The article deals with the concept of childhood in the psychological, pedagogical, literary and linguistic aspects, as well as the questions of age periodization of early years and determination of the boundaries of childhood. The author makes a brief overview of autobiographical novels of the 18-20th centuries on childhood and investigates the cause of the writers' appeal to this topic (L. N. Tolstoy, N. G. Garin-Mikhailovsky, A. N. Tolstoy, V. P. Astafiev). Special attention is paid to S. T. Aksakov's novel Childhood Years of Bagrov's Grandson. In particular the author analyses the main components of the child's linguistic world-image as well as lexical contents of these components. Basing on the analyses the author concludes that the key moments of the child's linguistic world-image in literary works of different writers coincide, that proves the objectiveness of its artistic interpretation.
