The Abadzekhs, Shapsughs and Natukhais, designated in historiography as "democratic" sub-ethnic groups, possessed a number of features in the economic and social development. Of great interest is the organization of agriculture in the mountain zone of Cherkessia. This article is devoted to this problem.
