Abstract

The suthor analyzes G.N.Potanin's (1835-1920) contribution to the exploration of Central Asia, his concepts and approaches, which received contradictory appraisals from the academic community; defines his role in the social and political life in Siberia as an ideologist of regionalism (oblastnichestvo).

Анализируется вклад Г. Н. Потанина (1835-1920) в изучение Центральной Азии, его концептуальные подходы, неоднозначно воспринятые научным сообществом. Устанавливается его роль в общественно-политической жизни Сибири как идеолога областничества.
