Abstract

The results of studies of three types of water samples from the river Ural, i.e. samples taken prior to household sewage discharge, after the discharge and household sewage obtained directly from the tube of the built-in sewerage systems, are suggested in the article. The samples under study have been analyzed to determine the content of acid-forming admixtures: ion-hydrocarbonates, ion-chlorides, ammonium ions, ions-hydrosulfide and ions-sulphate, the content of such metals as zinc, calcium, magnesium, iron, cuprum and suspended substances. The pH values have also been determined in all the water samples. The results obtained show that the outdated technology of household sewage treatment presently used at the most sewage cleaning facilities of Orenburg region, are unfit for sewage disinfection and for realizing the up-to-date sanitary standards even with considerable financial investments to its reconstruction.
