Abstract

The article suggests that the usage of personal names in fictional texts reflects the author's cultural and personal experience. The theoretical aspect of the article reveals the importance of differentiating between symbolic names and personal names with symbolic meaning. The examples provide data for comparative analysis of texts by Russian and English writers with similar life experience.
