Abstract

The article deals with a problem of thrombosis in Ph-negative myeloproliferative diseases (MPDs). Abnormal hemorheology and hemostasis in patients with MPDs lead to development and (or) progression of cerebrovascular disorders which determines the importance of that problem. Findings of the own comparative study of the effects of dipyridamole versus acetylsalicylic acid on functional properties of platelets and erythrocytes in patients with cerebrovascular disorders due to MPDs are presented. The authors conclude that adequate antiplatelet therapy, both for treatment and for prevention, in patients with MPDs leads to improvement of blood's rheological properties and may reduce risk of developing cerebrovascular disorders. In addition, the effects of Kurantil and acetylsalicylic acid were found to be comparable in that cohort of patients.
