Abstract

118 patients with different forms and stages of chronic gingivitis were involved in the study. All patients were divided into 2 groups: the first group were treated with the use of the infrared laser, the second group were treated using a modified LED light in the red region of the spectrum. The study focused on the comparative analysis of the effectiveness of treatment of patients with chronic gingivitis through the use of the infrared laser and modulated LED light source. The results of this study showed a positive clinical effect of the infrared laser and LED modulated radiation in treatment, and in some positions modulated LED light in the red region of the spectrum had reliable advantages over infrared laser radiation.
