Abstract

At histochemical study of 62 term placentas from patients with herpetic infection exacerbation was found out that 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase activity and 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase activity decreased. The disturbance of steroid hormone synthesis affected the concentration of estriol and estradiol in peripheral blood and placental homogenate.
