Abstract

Статья посвящена диахроническому изучению категории аппроксимации как способа выражения субъективного отношения говорящего к фактам объективной реальности, когда у говорящего отсутствуют точные знания об объекте номинации или он желает выразить свои мысли неточно, завуалировано, некатегорично. Объектом исследования является новостной дискурс американских качественных газет "Washington Post" и "New York Times" трех периодов XX века: 1920-е, 1960-е и 1998-2000 годы.
